David Brown 1948 Cropmaster Tractor: SOLD

After WWII, David Brown improved the VAK1 tractor, calling it the VAK 1A, built from 1945-1947, until it was finally became the David Brown VAK 1C, Cropmaster in 1947, with all the VAK 1's problems ironed out. The David Brown Cropmaster was made between 1947 and 1954, and nearly 60,000 of these were made. The petrol/TVO Cropmaster produced 35bhp, but in 1949, David Brown started making the diesel that was slightly more powerful, at 31.5bhp. The Cropmaster is capable of nearly 18mph in top gear.

This 1948 vintage David Brown Cropmaster VAK 1C tractor was lovingly and professionally restored about 10 years ago by a retired mechanic.  All original throughout. Brakes and clutch are good, so too are the hydraulic arms and PTO drive.

First registered in January 1948, this vintage tractor is Petrol/TVO, and starts easily on the crank. This is a very early Cropmaster and is not on the button, but an electric starter motor could be added if necessary. The later Cropmasters have a high and low gear, but this Cropmaster has just four forward and one reverse. I believe the top speed is about 15 MPH, so you could take it on tractor runs, and as it has two seats, you can take a friend.

This David Brown comes with the original buff registration document, and V5 log book, and is currently taxed.
