David Brown 25D Tractor

After WWII, farming demand was to have larger more powerful tractors, to cover the ground, however, these were only bought by the larger farms. Smaller farms needed to keep up, and Ferguson and Ford were producing a tractor to meet their demands. David Brown needed to keep up, and developed an alternative to the Cropmaster. The easy option was to produce small lower powered tractor, based on the David Brown Cropmaster. David Brown developed the 25hp and 30hp engine, and so the DB25 and DB30 came into existence, lasting from 1953-58. The petrol/TVO models were known as the David Brown 25C and 30C, while they called the diesel versions 25D and 30D.

This David Brown 25D tractor is fully restored, and in good working order. There is a small crack in the block, but after a vintage tractor run last year, there were no problems. I have yet to find out the exact age of this David Brown 25D vintage tractor. I do have a registration document for it, and it is vintage taxed, and on the road. She has a brand new set of tyres.

There are lights on this David Brown. This 25D, as the D suggests, is a diesel, so it will be ideal for tractor runs or a vintage working day, and cheap to run. I am going to keep this 25D for a while to have some fun with it. She's a fine example of what a David Brown 25D should look like, and if it didn't have the small crack in the block, would be perfect.
